2nd Money Bitch at the American Brittany Club Eastern Futurity 2014

Melanie is our little Stinker. I co-own her with her breeder, Linda Holcomb, of Breezewater Brittanys in New York. When Linda brought her to a show for me to see, there was no question, she was coming home with me! She fully embodies everything that is a Brittany. She is spunky and sweet, goofy yet dead serious when it's time to find birds, and a complete pocket pistol when it comes to running in the field. She's a lot to keep up with, but she brings so much joy in everything she does.

Melanie finished her championship 100% owner handled, 5 of her points coming from the Bred By class with Linda, the rest on the end of my lead. She finished during a specialty weekend winning back-to-back majors. I had called Linda just prior and told her I was going to just let Melanie be Melanie, I was done trying to make her be the well behaved little show dog. It was a bit of a gamble, because judges have asked more times than I can count "Did you bring your circus dog with you today?" as she has a funny habit of entering the ring on two legs instead of four! She didn't disappoint that weekend, as she did ballerina spins when waiting her turn... but the judges interpetted it as 'attitude' *whew!*

After her performance at the Eastern Futurity (she was completely herself, but esteemed breeder-judge Judy Tighe loved every bratty moment), her show career is now over. Lovely as she is, she's also exhausting to show and we'd like to put all that energy where it belongs, in the field! She'll be a personal hunting dog for us and maybe more as she's always up for more. Melanie is dual pointed.
