Woodford went to a wonderful home that originally contacted me for a hunting dog, but they showed interest in doing more competitive events as well. Without any idea if they'd ever follow through, off he went to Reno, NV and I heard very little for the first year. Then I got a call in August 2013 from his owners and I set him up with a handler out in their area. Long story short, he was just waiting for a chance to show the world what he's got!
In minimal showing, Woodford finished his show championship with 4 majors, finishing at Northern California Brittany Club's supported entry in June 2014. But don't let that fool you, he is hands down a field dog in a pretty suit! Also with minimal field trialing, all owner-handled, he has placed at every trial he has been entered in, with the exception of one Award of Merit. He won his Open Derby points at a GSP trial with 14 starters! He is certainly the Little Dog that CAN. We look forward to seeing him back in the ring, and he's nearly ready for adult stakes despite his young age. His owners are hooked ("on ribbons!" they say) and I couldn't be more pleased to see the opportunities they are giving this special boy.
